No Lifts. No Limits. No One Else In Sight.

There is a version of a ski trip that goes well beyond anything any resort can offer. It starts with 3.55 million acres of untamed British Columbia wilderness – and it ends with the best day you’ve ever had on skis.

Your guide hands you a headset and points out the window. “We’re landing there.” You step out onto a peak, 2,900 metres above sea level, crouch as the rotor wash blasts snow hard across the ridge – and then the helicopter tips forward, dives fast into the valley, and is gone. Then silence – no chairlifts, no crowds, no sound at all. Just you, your crew, your guide and everything below.

This is Bella Coola Heli Sports. And once you’ve skied here, chairlifts just won’t cut it.

BCHS operates across 3.55 million acres of the Coast Range – 434 times the size of Whistler Blackcomb – across four world-class lodges. For Australians travelling in January, two stand out: Tweedsmuir Park Lodge, sitting deep in the valley surrounded by massive icefields and vast alpine terrain, and Eagle Lodge, perched at the edge of the Pacific with gladed ridgeline tree-skiing and some of the most concentrated vertical in the range. January delivers both at their absolute peak: cold, dry, and deeply loaded with coastal powder that rivals the best of the Japanese Alps – the difference is that all 3.55 million acres remain completely untracked.

“No limits on vertical. No extra charges for additional runs. Your passport to endless descents from sun-up to sun-down.”

Unlimited Vertical is exactly that – no counting metres, no watching the clock, no cutting it short because the day got away. Groups of four share the helicopter with a CSGA or ACMG-certified guide who knows this range intimately and will spend the day finding you the best lines on the mountain. Back at the lodge, the day ends as it should: West Coast cuisine, cedar saunas, hot tubs under a sky full of stars, and a team that already knows what you need before you walk through the door.

The natural way to build the trip is a few days at Whistler Blackcomb first, then a short drive back to Vancouver in time for your afternoon charter. It departs from our private terminal at YVR South – just your group, your guides, and our team – and lands you in the Bella Coola Valley in under 70 minutes, included in the price of your package. Eagle Lodge is five minutes from the airstrip. Tweedsmuir is a scenic thirty-minute drive through the valley. You’ll arrive rested with your appetite already whetted.

There are some really good heli operations in BC. What sets BCHS apart is the scale of the wilderness, the calibre of the team, and an operation refined over two decades to remove every barrier between you and the best skiing of your life. The snow rivals Japan. The terrain rivals Alaska. The guides are among the most experienced in the business. And January availability fills before most people have finished dreaming about it.

Dream it. Plan it. Do it.
