Mile High Shredders Celebrate Inclusion at Winter Park
Mile High Shredders Ski Team recently hosted its end-of-season celebration at Winter Park Resort, Colorado. The event brought together participants, volunteers, community members and families to celebrate a successful ski season and the shared joy of skiing in Colorado’s mountains.
Mile High Shredders is a community dedicated to empowering individuals with Down syndrome to lead fulfilling lives by promoting inclusion and providing lifelong opportunities. The program focuses on building confidence, independence, and a strong sense of community through sports and activities.

A special highlight of the celebration was a visit from 2026 Olympic skier Jackson Harvey, who spent time meeting the group, sharing encouragement, and signing autographs for everyone in attendance. The opportunity to connect with an Olympian was incredibly meaningful and inspiring for the skiers and their families.

After the experience, the Mile High Shredders athletes carried the inspiration home, sharing stories of Jackson Harvey and showing their communities not only what it means to be an Olympian but that skiing is for everyone.
Events like this highlight the power of skiing to bring people together and the importance of creating opportunities for individuals of all abilities to experience Colorado’s mountains.
